In the first three days of an infection, ground the following ingredients and mix it with jaggery to make a paste. Provide the paste to the animal, every three hours for the first three days. Grind the following ingredients and mix them together with jaggery. Further, for the next three to fourteen days, treat the animal orally by feeding it this below mixture-

Ground together the Garlic, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, holy basil, clove leaves, black pepper, betel leaves and shallots and mix them together. Add Jaggery to this mixture to get the paste. Offer the animal three times daily.

Above all, mix neem leaves with jaggery to produce a topical ointment for open wounds.

Add and grind them together-

Acalypha indica (Kuppi, Kuppaimeni)

Garlic tooth (10)

Neem leaves (handful) as topical treatment for open wounds.

Turmeric powder (10 grams) mixes with one handful of Holy basil (Tulsi)

Henna (10 grams) leaves

Coconut oil (500 ml) to make a paste. Apply this paste after the cleaning of the wound. Therefore, farmers can use this traditional household treatment to cure lumpy skin disease in cattle. It can be prepared at home with local herbs and administered to the animal.
